Description
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) is seeking dynamic and highly motivated individuals to join its team as Investigators in the Consumer Protection Department. As an Investigator, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding consumer rights, ensuring fair business practices, and promoting healthy competition in the marketplace.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations into consumer complaints and alleged violations of consumer protection laws.
- Gather and analyze evidence through interviews, document reviews, and other investigative techniques.
- Collaborate with legal experts to build strong cases against businesses engaged in unfair trade practices or deceptive conduct.
- Monitor markets to identify emerging consumer protection issues and trends.
- Prepare comprehensive investigative reports, detailing findings and recommended actions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies to enhance consumer protection.
- Engage with stakeholders, including consumers, businesses, and government agencies, to promote awareness and compliance with consumer protection regulations.
- Participate in outreach programs to educate the public about their rights and responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in investigative roles, preferably in consumer protection, law enforcement, or regulatory agencies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in the use of relevant investigative tools and technology.
