Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals to join our dynamic team as Public Health Specialists. As a Public Health Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of public health programs aimed at preventing and controlling communicable diseases.

Responsibilities
  • Epidemiological Surveillance: Monitor and analyze disease trends, outbreaks, and public health threats to inform timely and effective interventions.
  • Program Development: Contribute to the design and development of public health programs, policies, and strategies.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with communities to assess public health needs, provide education, and foster community partnerships.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize epidemiological and statistical methods to analyze health data and provide evidence-based recommendations.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to public health emergencies by coordinating and implementing rapid response measures.
  • Policy Advocacy: Advocate for public health policies and interventions at local, regional, and national levels.
  • Capacity Building: Train and support healthcare professionals, community workers, and stakeholders in public health practices.
Qualifications
  • Education: A master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in public health practice, with a focus on communicable disease prevention and control.
  • Skills: Proficient in data analysis, epidemiological methods, and program management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Certification: Certification in Public Health (CPH) or relevant professional certification is preferred.
