Responsibilities
- Conduct Research: Design and conduct field research to study bat populations, behavior, and habitats.
- Habitat Preservation: Implement and oversee habitat preservation projects to ensure the sustainability of bat ecosystems.
- Education and Outreach: Develop and deliver educational programs to raise awareness about the importance of bat conservation. Engage with communities, schools, and organizations to promote understanding and support.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other conservation organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders to promote joint initiatives and share best practices.
- Data Analysis: Analyze research data and contribute to the development of scientific publications and reports.
- Advocacy: Advocate for policies and practices that support bat conservation at local, regional, and national levels.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Implement monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the effectiveness of conservation programs and make necessary adjustments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in wildlife conservation, with a focus on bat species preferred.
- Strong knowledge of bat biology, ecology, and conservation issues.
- Excellent field research skills, including the ability to conduct surveys, handle equipment, and analyze data.
- Effective communication skills for public outreach and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging field conditions.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and conservation policies.
