Heartland Alliance International is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Manager to lead our Social Services team in Nigeria. The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of social service programs aimed at addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to social justice and a deep understanding of community-based interventions.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for social service programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Team Management: Supervise and support a team of social workers and program staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Project Implementation: Oversee the effective implementation of social service projects, including needs assessments, program design, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance program impact and sustainability.
  • Capacity Building: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the capacity of staff and community partners in delivering effective social services.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and integrity of program activities through regular monitoring, evaluation, and adherence to best practices and ethical standards.
  • Budget Management: Effectively manage program budgets, ensuring financial accountability and compliance with donor requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, with a focus on social services and community development.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain effective partnerships.
    • Knowledge of and experience in the social services sector in Nigeria.
  • Language: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
